Doctoral Study Program, Department of Physics, FMIPA UNS (SK Kemenristekdikti No. 31/KPT/I/2018) develops scientific disciplines based on the branch of Physics which is defined as a basic science that studies the description of physical systems and the interactions between physical systems so that the characteristics of the physical system can be known which opens up opportunities for the application of its functional properties. The scope of this field of study starts from a simple system consisting of only a few elementary particles, a two-dimensional condensed matter system in the form of thin films, powder/powder nano-meter order to a three-dimensional macroscopic system in the form of bulk. The content of green physics based on local wisdom characterizes the Physics Doctoral Study Program, FMIPA UNS, so it is expected to provide a strengthening of research novelty at the doctoral level with acceptable research results in international reputable journals.

The peculiarity of the Doctoral Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS is an orientation in the development of green physics based on local wisdom (green physics based local wisdom). Green physics is not only exploring the potential of local resources as photonic materials and smart materials for various sensor applications. However, green physics also means the development of environmentally friendly physics, including Environmental Physics. At the beginning of the establishment of the Physics Doctoral Program, FMIPA UNS, there were three groups of areas of interest, namely:
(1) Theoretical and Particle Physics,
(2) Physics of Electronic Materials, and
(3) Physics of Photonic Materials, as well as support for 11 research groups in the field of expertise.

Compulsory Courses

Elective Courses of Interest

Note:

  1. Elective courses of interest can be in the form of lectures, presentations of review papers, and strengthening of lab skills
  2. Minimum publication in the form of Scopus indexed International Seminar Proceedings and 1 reputable international journal paper (Q3) or reputable international journal papers (Q3).
  3. Proposal and Dissertation Examination I to. VI is a non-structured course (not face-to-face in class) part of the completion of a Doctoral Dissertation

The Doctoral Program in Physics requires scientific publications in international journals for Doctoral Programs at least 2 scientific papers in Scopus indexed journals in accordance with UNS Rector Regulation No. 585/UN27/HK/2016 concerning Management and Implementation of Master and Doctoral Programs.
