Magister Curriculum

The Physics Masters Program, Postgraduate Program (PPs) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) has been approved for its establishment based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 2360/D/T/2008. Academic activities began in the 2009/2010 academic year. Based on BAN-PT Decree No. 2612/SK/BAN-PT/akred/M/VIII/2017, that the Physics Study Program has again received A accreditation, valid from 2017 to 2022.

Due to the rapid development of science, technology, and telecommunications, one aspect of Indonesia’s national development that needs to be considered is the development of the quality of human resources (HR). To deal with this demand, the 1945 Constitution as a result of the amendments has mandated state administrators to increase the portion of the education budget with the aim of improving the quality and quantity of education so that the Indonesian nation is able to take part in the development of knowledge and technology. Especially getting a quality education and producing a ready-made workforce.

The Physics Masters Study Program, PPS UNS is one of the real efforts in the field for the development of the quality of Indonesian human resources based on the spirit of the 19945 Constitution, which is oriented to the rights and obligations to obtain education for all Indonesian citizens.

This UNS Master of Physics program provides a strong provision in deepening the material as a foothold for the Doctoral level. So that the Constitutional Court strengthens physical sciences such as Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Mathematical Physics, Thermodynamics and Statistics in the first year lectures. While the last one year is the time for the completion of the Thesis.

Currently, at the UNS Physics Masters Program, there are three groups of areas of expertise, namely: (1) Theoretical and Particle Physics, (2) Electronic Materials Physics, and (3) Photonic Materials Physics, as well as support for 11 research groups in the field of expertise that become “home” in the completion of thesis research.

The Physics Masters Study Program is currently running a curriculum based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), namely the Master Program is entered at level 8 with learning outcomes covering general and specific attitudes, knowledge, and skills.

Note:

  1. Elective Interests Courses are designed to be the basis for scientific strengthening in completing the Thesis
  2. Publication of scientific papers in the form of Scopus indexed International Seminar Proceedings, reputable international journal papers (Q3) or reputable national journal papers as well as national seminar proceedings.
  3. Thesis I I s.d. IV is a non-structured course (not face-to-face in class) part of the completion of the Master’s Thesis
  4. The minimum credit score for the Physics Masters Program is 36 credits (including the thesis 11 credits)
